The Great Adventures of...

For the most part, I never rarely give an explanation to a lot of the photographs I post of this blog. It is really just a mixed bag of the various things I've seen during the week. Given that it is a new year, I've decided to occasionally tell the stories behind some of my adventures.

What better way to start this new series than to feature some amazing people I've hung out with every weekday for years, but surprisingly never (or rarely) featured on this blog? I would share more photos of them, but I usually only photograph them at company events, and it's not really appropriate to post those photos here. But every now and then we take adventures around SF and enjoy life. We'll call this one... "Photos and Beers"

James and Jocelyn discussing world cultures while waiting for the train to the Mission:

Brandye coolin' on the train
Bert, Ben and Laura joined us on the ride the Mission. Ben and Laura used to work with us before they went on to bigger and better things on the East Coast.
Parting is such sweet sorrow. Maybe we'll see them later in the adventure?
Right around here in the course of our adveture, there should have been a photo that featured a fully wrapped turkey breast and a cup of coffee that was just sitting all alone on 24th St... I looked for it on the way back, but I guess someone stumbled upon a come up and ran off with it.

After a nice stroll down 24th Street, we found ourselves at the Brava Theater for the "A Dangerously Curious Eye - The photos of Barry Shapiro" photo exhibit. Barry Shapiro was a Bay Area photographer who spent a lot of time in the 70s and early 80s documenting life in The Bay
Playing a little game we called "Where in the Bay was this photo taken?"
Some of his more interesting photos were taken from his car as he drove around the Bay.
Chillin' in the photo gallery
Alaina and her fiance Matt joined our adventure to a funkier time
These wonderful people might tell you that I took them on what seemed like an endless walk... I'll admit it seemed longer than I remembered... But on the positive side, they all got to see parts of the Mission they hadn't seen before. So that's a win, right?
After a nice little stroll back up 24th, we found our selves at Rosamunde with some familiar faces and some new ones... Gretchen and Jeni
Cheers!
Rene and Matt discussing the socio-political issues in the Philippines... or maybe the next beer on the menu

Tamara also joined us during our little adventure to the Mission

Fun little adventure with some awesome people. Good times in the Bay.
