Who's Johnny?

The photos below are of the SF Armory. A lot of people have opinions on the company that owns the building and the work that is done there. Regardless how you feel about that part of the building's history, the building itself has a lot of interesting aspects that are very interesting to see in person.

These huge structure beams help to support all of the floors in the building.

At one point in the building's history, this room contained the Roman bath. It was ripped out decades ago, but the floor still has the outline of the bath structure.

This is one of the most interesting rooms in the building. It is the old shooting range. Due to the decades of abandonment, and the age of the building, this is one of the most decayed areas. The most interesting aspect of this room is that it is the only place in SF that you can see Mission Creek above ground.

The Drill Court is an amazing room to see. This used to be the MSG of the West Coast. They held prize fights and other sporting events here during the first half of the 1900s. The roof structure is amazing to look at. This is also part of the building that they shot some scenes from Star Wars.

It is amazing that the building is still in the condition that is after being abandonded for over 30 years before the current owner bought it in 2006. I took many additional photos that focus on the current business conducted in the building, but I decided to not post them. Anyone who knows the business can imagine what those might be. Let's just say it was a very educations and entertaining tour.
